Having Problems Burning dvd's with Nero

i am a newbie here. this is my very first post. i'm having some trouble with my dvd burner. i'll explain my set-up.

i have a laptop with a dvd rom drive inside it. then i have a memorex external dvd burner that sets off to the side.

i put my original dvd in the laptop. my blank dvd in the external burner. then copy from one to the other.

i've been having trouble with them all of a sudden. i get messages like "session fixation error" - "could not perform end of disk at once" - "power calibration error". it's a headache to say the least.

here is the history from nero. any help would be great. i really appreciate the help.

    Firmware: Deleted Link.

If you choose to flash, do it from safe mode with no disc in drive.

Read & use The Golden Rules. Also update your Nero. Now having done all that, my advice would be to give ImgBurn a shot.

      usb2?

can't flash with a bin file alone

      safe mode and usb drives?

I just downloaded the link from RPC, I have now deleted it. @ Dorrell, stick with Chewy on this one, he has forgotten more than I know, good luck.

now soup, you've bout got it all, at my age I am forgetting stuff pretty fast

the bin file needs a flash utility

download from here and put them in a folder on your desktop

don't hany disks in the drive and by all means shut everything else down
            when doing the flash

the link soup gave you(if you downloaded it?) was to US08, or get it from my link, save to desktop in a new folder you create. Download and save the flash utility in the same folder. The firmware is in a bin format. Execute the flash utility and it should see the bin file. A geek friend is handy for the first
                flash, not that hard.

Create a new folder on your Desktop, call it Flash, then Download US08 to that folder, then download the Flash Utility to that folder. Make sure you have no disc in that drive. Boot in to safe mode, then run the Flash Utility from within that folder & it should pick up the Bin File. Use Chewy's link.
