Anyone know a good avi chopper?

does anyone know of a good chopping tool so I can cut avi files in half without having to convert them into mpegs first?

I've been trying avichop but it seems to mess up pretty much every movie.

I've tried both of those and I always end up with the audio well out of sync with the picture

Did you follow the divx-digest.com guides. Most people generally have sync issues, when they do not cut at a keyframe. Always make sure you cut at a "key frame".

as far as I know, I have cut it at a keyframe.

I used the skip to next keyframe keys to select the cutting point.

Read the guide (http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/cutavi.html) on how to correct a/v synch issues with Virtualdub/Nandub.

If that fails to work, you may attempt to manually adjust the audio and video using synchronizer.

I seem to have been pretty successful with the few movies I've just tried that out on.

                thanks a lot
