    Help!!!!!

Ok, this is probally heard all the time and I hope i'm even in the right place. I have a nice supply of DVDs and I like to watch them on my computer. I have only 1 TV so its a frequent conflict on who gets the right to use it. Plus, unfortunatly, I treat my DVDs like crap and they don't last long.

    SO.....

I would like to know the process of taking my DVDs and putting them on my computer to watch without taking up 4 FUDGING gigs of hard drive space. What software would I use? Where would I get it? And would the compression remotely average quality with a lower amount of space taken?

    Any help would be great...

Talk about the AVI file container, and the Divx/Xvid codecs that are most commonly found in AVI files
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.
