I tried to process mpeg2 files greater than 4 Gb using Flaskmpeg and Xmpeg .. I cannot do nothing because when I open the file I can't use the slider the scroll the movie and there's no way to start the compression .. it's a limit of the mpeg2 file type or is a bug of the programs I'm using ?? I can open without problems these files with Powerdvd and Bsplayer ..
Probems dubbing mpeg2 files greater than 4 Gb

Flask (I'm not sure about the most recent release v.7.xxx) cannot use Open DML .AVI, only "standard" .AVI - and is therefore limited to only 2 Gig output.
I'd suggest you simply split your MPEG file, using TMPGEnc as follows:
File>>MPEGTools>>Merge&Cut (Make certain to set the mode to accurately match the type of MPEG, e.g. MPEG1, MPEG1-VideoCD, MPEG2, MPEG2-SuperVideoCD)
Let us know of your success ;>} -
Flask and Xmpeg works perfectly with files great more than 2 GB (but less tha 4) .. the problem isn't to write a file bigger than 2 GB, I haven't the need to do this, the problem is to open the file.
These files are generated by the great sat receiver Nokia MM 9500 via SCSI port (using DVB2000recorder) and - in my opinion - not 100% mpeg2 compliant and are impossible to treat with tmpg and other cutting utilities.
I tried opening with dvd2avi and it opens the files perfectly, but I need more options and dvd2avi is too simpleComment

"not 100% mpeg2 compliant and are impossible to treat with tmpg and other cutting utilities"
1) What specific error message is generated when you try to load the file under "Merge & Cut"?
2) If, in fact, you are correct in your speculation that DVB2000recorder is not creating compliant MPEG2 files, have you considered trying other capture software (such as the free capture software included in VirtualDub - which captures in .AVI format)?
3) What exactly are you trying to accomplish with the downloaded files?Comment

I tried to use tmpg but the program re-compress the video, I want to do a raw file splitting without processing it .. but gives no error.
The file are created with the sat receiver without using any kind of video in cards .. simply the decoder redirects the mpeg2 stream to the scsi port and the program save this stream on the hard drive (like using a dvb card on a pc).. I'm not sure that the file are perfect because I get a lot of problems de-interlacing when I dub this files, Virtualdub doesn't open them, chopper and chopperxp hang when I open a file, mpegsplitter don't work, when I compress with flaskmpeg the program never finish a compression because the program auto-closes after few minutes .. The unique program who treat this files really good is xmpeg (dvd2avi do it so, but it have too few options) that cannot open mpeg files greater than 4 gb.
In few words I want to compress in divx mpeg2 files greater than 4 Gb , and I have no alternative to create the mpeg files, because there's only a way to save the stream -- I don't acquire the video via a video in card or such similar, I save it without any conversion D/A and A/DComment

If you use TMPGEnc's File>>MPEGTools>>Merge&Cut and set the mode to MPEG2 (NOT "MPEG2_SuperVideoCD"), you will be able to split your MPEG2 file WITHOUT ANY PROCESSING...Comment
