I know that it will require a reencode, but is there a FAST way to do it? Perhaps turn down some of the settings (ie motion detection, etc) to achieve the same video quality (ie so that it doesn't get noticably worse) and have the subs in there.
Doh now I've got another problem: I can't open the subs with the VobSub filter in Vdub. I've already tested the subs out and it works fine with DirectVobSub, but the filter won't open it. I don't have the .idf files or whatever, are these essential?
Thanks for your help gs0666! I managed to find the idx and other files, and I'm sure that now it'll be easy to add subs no problem.
Another question, on a slightly unrelated topic: When you're using Vdub to frameserve because, let's say, a movie is not the right aspect ratio for TMPGEnc, do you open the movie w/o audio (ie video stream only), add audio (via a wav file) IN Vdub?
The problem is that the audio is not synched correctly when I use Vdub to frameserve. I've tried adding the wav file directly to TMPGEnc, but its not synched. I've tried opening the movie (sound and all) in Vdub and just frameserving; again no dice.
