VirtualDub & improper vbr AVI files.

When loading an improper vbr AVI as it reports, it changes the audio header and becomes desynced.

I am still learning, but am having trouble finding the article on how to extract and re-encode an audio file from an AVI.

I suppose this is the best way to solve this problem.....?

VirtualDub doesn't support VBR "Variable Bit Rate" It only takes CBR "Constant Bit Rate" You have to use Nandub for VBR's

Hello fellas
Ive just split a film on my hard drive using virtual dub. The problem is when i open the movie file into virtual dub,the following notice comes up:
"VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatability.This may introduce up to 5760 ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable, decompress the entire audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder.(bitrate:126.2plus or minus 16.4kbps)"
How do i do this cause the audio does(as the notice says) become out of sync with the whole video.You mentioned that nandub could be used but could it be used for splitting video files. I will really appreciate it if any of you can help me. Cheers guys

Just use NanDub for VBR movies and it won't create the audio to get out of sync

i had the same problem it drove me nuts
*to fix it set audio to full processing and choose uncompressed.
save as wav
it should be more or less than a gig
*then after thats done set the video to direct stream copy
*then instead of source audio choose wav audio and select the file u just made
set the compression to mpeg layer 3 128 bits 44100 hz stereo
then save the file and when u open it up u want get the error message.
