DivX codec doesn't work in DVDx..Help!!

I usually use DVDx 2.0 to convert dvd to divx, normally I can choose divx codec from the dvdx menu.

Unfortunatelly, lately the codec is not shown on the list (don't know how and when its just suddenly gone...). I can see other codecs such as MsVideo1, indeo, etc but no DivX 5.05

I have no idea how to solve this problem, already tried to uninstall and reinstall both DVDx and DivX 5.05.


I really appreciate it if anybody can tell me the solution.

Do I have game for you (as we say on the West Coast, USA)! Ever heard of Easy DivX v0.82???? It's a freeware program that allows you to copy DVD to DivX FLAWLESSLY!!! Here's a list of what this small program does:

1 - Rips, decrypts, and stores the various DVD files (.vob, .ifo, etc.)

2 - Decrypts and encodes .mp3 audio (for which I might add you personally can set the kb/s rate)

3 - Decrypts and encodes video (very tricky usually, but with this BEAUTIFUL program, it does it all for you)

4 - Multiplexing - the very intricate step where the .mp3 audio track is merged with the .avi video (encoded in DivX 5.0.2.)

5 - Then it saves the completed DivX movie as 'easy_divx movie' or something like that. All you do then is rename it, and save it to a CD-R.

VERY IMPORTANT: The install program will ask you if you want to install the DivX 5.0.2 Codec. Uninstall any other DivX codec and let it install this one. (It is compatible with the program and is bundled with it) YOU MUST LET IT INSTALL THIS CODEC. If not, your audio/video multiplex will be off a few ticks.

No need to figure out frame rates, PAL/NTSC (or whatever the hell it's called) or resolution....it automatically picks the movie .vob files for you...and even gives you a DVD analyses tab to double check the way the DVD is set up (frame rate and all) so that there are no slip-ups.

All you have to do is tell it how big your CD-R is (650 or 700MB) and it will make the movie fit one one or two...it's up to you.

I have an excellent DivX of "Magnolia" with Tom Cruise on one CD-R....... that movie is 3 hours 5 minutes long!!!! That just goes to show you what Easy DivX can do........

Take it from me: set the .mp3 bitrate to 160kbs. Excellent audio without the space consumption of a 192.

I hope this somehow lightens the load on you and simplifies a task that hell, I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!
