get subtitles permanent on a movie?

How can I get the subtitles permanent on a movie.

So my friends who don't know anything of computers can play the video files too and don't have to go trough al those installation of speciale programs needed for it.

1) If you rip the ENTIRE DVD to your hard drive, use Flask to "Load DVD" (NOT "Load File"). You can then include the subtitle stream of your choice (from the DVD) as a permanent part of the DivX-compressed .AVI that you create

2) If you already have a DivX-compressed .AVI without subtitles and you have a separate subtitle file, you can use VirtualDub (or one of its variants) with its subtitle plugin to add the subtitles as a permanent part of the .AVI

where can i find that subtitle plugin i cant find it anywheere in the program and neiter on the video plugins

After installing the tool I opened VirtualDub and I did chose the TestSub filter, then you have to do set the font and size and stuff and then encode.

It works great. But see that for Divx files you use TekstSub and don't use VobSub because it will not work.
