It's more likely that you're running into a 2Gigabyte "standard" .AVI filesize limit...

      Mr setarip
Emperor of Digital Video - My deeply respect - I am a begginer.
I was trying to convert a 2h 34 min 44 sec into Divx limited to 1 CD 700Mb in size. And I notice that doing this the parameters would result in a below "Low Quality Standard" film.
I suspect that Mr Jean-Luc PONS woul not like to see his product running under such Low Quality Standard, and place a limit to that size.
I succeed with other nice program, now available: DrDivX 1.0
      Input parameters:
      Mpeg2 720 X 480 - NTSC 29,97 FPS - 2 h 34 min 44 seg - 278.241 frames
Converted using divix codec 5.05 configured in default to match 1 CD with 700 Mb capacity

      Output parameters:
      Bitrate presented by program: 543
      Audio: 80 Kbps stereo MP3
      Video 352 X 256 24 bit
      Aspect ratio 4:3
      1st pass performed in 1h 35 min 27 sec
      2nd pass performed in 1h 51 min 57 sec

The result, in my opinion was good in video aspect itself and in video-audio sincronization - size obtained - 699 Mb that fit to the choiced CD
