Disappear HD Space in Virtual Dub

Ok, here is the problem. I was encoding a video file on virtual dub, but something went wrong. The encoding stopped and the video file i was encoding disappeared (5gb). problem is that although the file is gone, it's still taking up the space in a very odd way. My drive was orginally 76gb total and now it's 71gb total. Where did my extra harddrive space disappear? has virtual dub made an invisible partition (just joking, unless it really happened).

Just scan your drive for errors (set to "Automatically correct")...

Have you looked in your "Temp" or "Windows\Temp" folders for a 5 Gig file?

Nooooo, it's not like that. First may partition was 76GB formatted, but after the incident the partition went down to 71GB. It took a bite out of the partition and i don't know where it went. So it's not like i had 76GB of free space and then it went down 71GB. 5GB of my partition have vanished. Now i only have 200MB of free space.
