I just converted a vob file to DivX using XmpegRC3Build3 (divX 5.05, 2passes, HQbicubic resize, YV12 format, no audio), the result was pretty good, but when I opened the file with VirtualDub1.5.4 a strange thing happened:
1) the input video can't be displayed because: "error decompressing video frame 0: an unknown eroor orrurred (may be incorrupted data) (error code -100)"
2) on "file information..." the decompressor seems to be "Xvid Mpeg4 codec"
Why VirtualDud can't read the file although I can see it with The Playa and WindowsMediaPlayer?
In the "codec configuration window" of xmpeg is specified that codec and fourCC are DIVX, so why should Xvid be the "virtualdub decomp."?
The same thing happens with XmpegRC2 and VirtualDubMod 1.5.1.1a
Please, don't answer me that there are many other (and better) programs, I use DVX and I know that it's faster and more precise (using lanczos), but let's say it's just curiosity
