prob with virtual dub divx cutting

Hi,
I guess this is pretty much a newby question, but i do need some help with this... I want to cut a divx movie, just take off a certain part of it. However, even though I set the options to 'direct stream copy' for both audio and video, every time sound and video are disjointed after the splitting. What can I do?

Try using NanDub instead (It can handle some types of audiostreams better than VirtualDub)...
