    Audio Problem with Virtual Dub...

Ok, here it goes: I have a DVD that I ripped some scenes from, and then encoded to DivX 5.05 (and all the same audio settings) using Flask.

So then, after I had them all encoded, I go to Virtual Dub to join them to make one

(as a side question, if they were all divx 5.05, then I joined them together to make one divx 5.05 in the end, would any of it lose quality, or would it stay the same?)

And it says this to me: (after loading the first one) Cannot Appened Segment: The audio streams have different sampling rates (13997.00000 vs. 14000.00000)

When that really isn't true, because they both got ripped, and encoded the EXACT same way....

(oh, I tired using Virtual dub Mod too, and the same BS)

Thanks to anyone that can help.

For EACH of the files, do the following:

    1) Load file into VirtualDub
    2) Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
    3) Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode"
    4) From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression"
    5) Select 16,000Hz (example)
    6) From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Conversion"
    7) If necessary, put a checkmark next to "Display all formats"
    8) Select your preferred sampling rate from amongst the 16,000Hz .MP3 rates listed (example)
    9) Click on "OK"
    10) Save with a new filename

Man, you guys are amazing. Thank you.

Just two other questions, one if I add all the files (that are divx5, and then save it as a divx 5 vid will it lose visual quality?)

and second, what do you use setarip for like say a video that you want to have good quality, but not be too huge in filesize?

I had downloaded a documentary, and I saw that the quality is good, plus the audio synchs up well, my rips are good, but not as good as it.

Oh, and as a side note, after I have joined some of the clips together, it makes a honking noise when it switches to another clip.

            My pleasure ;>}

"if I add all the files (that are divx5, and then save it as a divx 5 vid will it lose visual quality?"

There's no reason for that to happen...
