    cutting divx3 low motion probs

    ive been having some problems cutting videos with divx 3 low motion videos. i have the video details below this message (details of video.jpg).

    i opened the video in Virtual dub, and i got an error message. ive attacthed the error messagse as a jpeg below this message (error in virtual dub.jpg).

    i carried on, cut the bit i wanted, selected no audio, because i didn't want any audio, then selected save avi. once finished i got a massive file of 16megs on a 1 minute file!!

    someone plez help!

    you saved the file as uncompressed Yv12 avi in vitualdub, before saving
    go to Video dropdown menue and hit -->direct stream copy

    then save as avi with new filename

    good luck!!

    edit: the error message stated that your audiostream has a variable bitrate and virtualdub is unlikely to process these streams
    flawlessly.

    check the postings on VBR to CBR audio conversion if you like!

        this filesize is nothing unusual for that bitrate of 1156 kbits/s
        32 seconds = 5mb ==> 1 minute is about 10 mb==>
        70 minutes is about 700 mb..

        if you want it smaller use full processing mode in videodropdown
        select the div3 compression codec or another mpeg4 codec
        and reduce the bitrate to a smaller value... in the configuration window .... then save again.
        but this also means lowering quality.
