vbr->cbr pb (if you can help)

Ok, boys, i know, i'm a newbie in this, but i really need help!
I got a file that is too big for writting on a single cd.
So I opened it in vd and got the famous alert of vbr detect. It told me to recompress with 117+/- 13 kbps.

I extracted audio as wav, and converted it as mp3 with dbpoweramp converter.

    Is that correct ?

Ok after, i added the new mp3 stream in a video-only version of the divx, always in vd ( i had same results with vdmod), and saved all without recompression.

But now, the biginning of the divx is right but after few minutes, audio leads over video , and after half-hour, it is 1 sec early.

    What's the problem ?
    Thanks

Using VirtualDubMOD to Convert "VBR" .MP3 to Uncompressed .WAV

    1) Load the .AVI file into VirtualDubMOD (a different program than the standard VirtualDub)

    2) From the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Direct Stream Copy"

    3) From the "Streams" dropdown menu, select "Stream List" - and rightclick on the audio stream, then select "Full Processing Mode" - then click on "OK"

    4) From the "File" dropdown menu, save with a new filename
