movie out of sync when converting to mpeg2

Hi all, im only new to this, and yes i did some searching to try find an answer to my problem, Tried the tips on Nickys pages interleaving the video but that only worked for a short while than stuffed up the sync further down the line it didnt help my problem .let me start from the beginnig.I download this movie in Avi format seems to play fine on media player 9 no sync problems, than i converted it to mpeg2 and found i had sync problems, got worse as the film neared the end. got a hold of Vdub-mp3 freeze and virtual dub latest version and found that the movie had bad frames so i found a guide called Garys Avi to svcd fool proof guilde and proceded to follow that. Got ride of the bad frames saved it and started to exstract the wave file as per instruction ,right up to converting the movie with Tmpgenc. After the convertion the same problem out of sync tried another program Terabits avi info ,playing the Avi movie on the previewer didnt even show and sync problems yet when i convert it to svcd it stuffs up. anyone out there can help out with a guide so i can try again
    thanks in advance

Rather than "getting rid of" bad frames, you should mask them, as follows:

    1) Load the .AVI file (DivX-compressed or otherwise) into the most recent version of either VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod

    2) Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy"

    3) Select "Check for errors"

    4) Select "Mask bad frames"

    5) Save with a new filename

Hi setarip thanks for finding the time 2 reply, tried your suggestion but still no go,still out of sync when i convert 2 svcd, by the way im useing the program Dvd2svcd which im sure u have heard off so i have just about given up on it . in the mean while i used Nero to convert the Avi file ( with bad frames ) to Vcd and it works with out any sync problems at all, still i would have profered better quality Svcd. thanks again , any 1 else out there have a solution 2 my problem.

      thanks
