divx crashing my system?

using flask and vidomi etc..to rencode the vob files..great results no probs now..but divx allways in most cases causes an unexpected error which results in me having to turn the pc off and start again..other codecs work fine any idea's

Please clarify this statement. Is the error occurring when you use:

A) Flask (and choose the DivX codec for conversion)

B) Vidomi (and choose the DivX codec for conversion)

C) Windows Media Player, or some other, to play the video?

Which DivX codec are you using?

If you use DivX4.11/4.12 try to use DivX3.11

re-crashing probs

im using the divx 4.11/12 codec at the moment tried divx3 but the quality is rubbish..doesnt crash my system though!!! 256mgs ram
