Chapters' Limitation with long movie

I have been trying to integrate the full 61 chapter's list into LOTR -Return Of The King DivX with Virtualdubmod (version 1.5.4.1) using the Mastroska container, and am finding it will accept only 49 which equates to about 2 hours 31 minutes.

Is this a software limitation? Or is there a workaround other than splitting the movie?

Having found no possible causes of this potential limitation, I made another Mastroska file of the entire movie. This time it formed with no issues.

As it was the third time I had tried this and it did not work the first two times, I cannot give any reason for the cause only to say I am now one happy DivXer
