    DVD2Avi Screen Format Problems

I'm having problems with DVD2Avi. A movie that is formatted for widescreen/letter box 16:9 is just resampled and stretched back when it is converted, how can I fix this?
Also, is there a way to get dvd2avi to combine the audio with the video instead of it creating a seperate mp3?

Always keep aspect ratio and select the correct ratio in the resize/crop section.

If you prefer to keep the aduio and video in one file use this: http://www.dvd-digest.net/downloads/...ask3.0eExp.exe

I cant find that option, it keeps stretching the video removing the letter box effect.

NB: I've also tried DVD2AVI_gui and it keeps crashing when decoding audio, yet it does the video great. Is there anyway just to extract the audio seperately and join them back to the avi?

DVD2AVI has got it's own GUI see: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/dvd2avi.html

Get this DVD2AVI guide also: http://www.whdl16709.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/dvdtoavi.html

Ok, new problem. Encoded the Divx file(s) using FLASK .6 fine then burnt them to a vcd, came out good.

              One problem is this.

Flask opens 1 vob file at a time, so I can't join the two together. I had to improvise and when using Nero to encode the vcd set the gap between tracks to 0 seconds. This worked, although slightly jumpy, I'd rather encode one vcd worth of vob files 60 odd mins. I know dvd2avi lets you do it, but with I'd rather use flask as I can't get ANY sound format to spit out of DVD2avi.

I've got TMPGENC and read the guides on how to use it, but it's still a little confusing to me.

The reason Flask is encoding one vob at a time, is becuase you are using a ripper like CladDVD mdec or other that renames the vobs.

Try and get the older CladDVD 1.99PR or make sure you use ifo parsing and open the ifo file with Flask.

I'm using smart ripper. Which options should I change to allow me to do as you suggested? If not possible, I'll use clad. Cheers.

I've never used Smart Ripper. I used CladDVD the day I started ripping and have used it ever since.

I had a quick look at Smart Ripper and I think if you start it and let it collect the info for your DVD then choose the <b>Files</b> button it should rip ok. It does not seem to include the .ifo file though.

If you let it ripp the vob'd then open the DVD and copy over the corresponding .ifo file to where the vob's were ripped to. (i.e. If vobs are VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB etc copy VTS_01_0.IFO)

Then you can open the .ifo file in flask.

If you are going to use Flask 0.6 get the XiS 3.0e version here
http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/do...flaskmpeg.html (scroll to the bottom of the page)

It's a lot more stable and easier to use too.
