with all the problems i have been having with this external USB DVD writer (which i did nothave on my laptop writer) its not that i am using just 1 type of media. i have tried several but still it dont verify...even nero 6 didnt verify after burning so i uninstalled it...but now i just dont know what to do ?Comment

if i am not wrong...the external one that i have purchased has a small cable which is also used internally...1 sec, will check.no cannot...does on have a USB 2.0, power and fan and audio jack on it....
i just thought that usb writer i could use on any of my 4 computer so that no one comp has to be made busy while burning ...you seeComment

If you can attach your USB burner thru an IDE cable during the flash of the new firmware - try that - it will be safer.

where would I find free burning software? I have used the trials on Nero 7. right now I have burn4free on my computer but it only seems to burn data dvds which won't play in my dvd players. Can anyone help?Comment
