Capture Video using PCI 878P+ Tuner.

I want to know the best software to schedule capturing video (output mpeg file format) not avi format to minimize disk space required.

I use 878P+ TV Tuner card under Windows XP.
    P4 with 512 MB Ram.

    Regards.

i googled your card, but couldn't find anything regarding its specs. can you give the manufacturer's name? is it a digital tv card? does it have BDA drivers?

      Dear Sir:

First of all, I would like to thank you for your fast reply. I appreciate it.

It is BTCap, WDM TV Tuner. It is from Pixel view. It is bttv for PixelView 878P+ TV tuner PCI card.

Is there any other data required? I am not sure of the PDA thing.

      Regards.

your card is analogue, so many types of software will work with it. i myself have only ever used digital tv cards, but you may want to try using 'virtualvcr', which is completely free, and a guide here http://www.doom9.org/capture/start.html

digital tv cards, like the one i have, provide MUCH higher quality video and audio than any analogue could ever hope to achieve. you may or may not be able to use one though, as digital is only broadcast in certain countries/areas...
