    Key frames

    Im lookinf for inserting keyframes in a divX
    i saw many methods to do it when you're encoding
    but is there one where you can do it after ????
    pleaazzzzz help me...

    I don't believe so.

    The only such capability I'm aware of is in "tweening" software for basic animation...

    You could try doing a Google search for "inserting keyframes"

      There is a way but it a pain in the ass :

      Cut your avi file in pieces (with virtualDub), for instance part1 and part2.

      Then, with virtual dub, re-compress the first frame of part 2, so it will become a keyframe, since a single frame is always a keyframe.

      Then happend this frame to part1, and then part2 to (part1 + frame).

      Do this each time your wan to instert frames.....

      Bit boring, isnt'it ?

      2nd solution, recompress the whole thing (with virtual dub) configuring your codec with a different keyframe rate... but quality will decrease (re-compressing).

        @LaFouine: Without recompressing you only can cut before a keyframes, so the first frame of part2 will allready be a keyframe. You will have to recompress all frames from the position where you want to insert the keyframe to the last non-keyframe after the position. Then you have to insert the recompressed part in the video.
