    Problem

    Hi there,
I have aproblem with virtual dub. I want to encode mpg to avi (divx5). So I make the settings for processing for video and audio for the compressions and so on. The I start the compression, but afte 5 minutes encoding there comes an alert. "Not enough audio data!! And then it stops. I tried it 4 times but everytime there is that failure on the same frame!
So I startet the mpeg-file with media-player and on this frame there ist a little sound-problem it sounds like a "clirr", but the film does not stop I can watch it till the end.

So my question is: Is it possible to make virtualdub ignore this little data failure or to repair the mpg-file?

Please help me I drive crazy!

    Greetingz

    Sten

    Sorry for my bad english!

    Load the video into VirtualDub

Save the audiostream as a .WAV file (File>>Save as WAV)

    Close VirtualDub

    Restart VirtualDub

    Load the video

From "Audio" dropdown menu, select "WAV audio" and load your WAV

    Resave with a new filename

The only other thing that I can suggest is to cut out the bad frame(s)...

VDub is not very good at processing corrupted mpeg-streams. Use TMPEGEnc or repair the stream with vcdgear.

            I had similar probelm

I had a similar problem with DVDx when ripping a dvd (Trainspotting) recently and it gave more information than that...it said that the problem could have something to do with the framerate (it said that the DVD was 29.97 but it would only work if I would override it to 24). After that I no longer had the error. It is possibly because you are processing a 24FPS file at 30FPS and it just F*$#s it up somehow. I also tried starting in the middle of the movie when i had the problem and it did the same thing, so it wasnt any specific frame that is giving the problem, it is after a certain amount of data is processed.

PS...After I adjusted the framerates, the audio was out of sync, but I think that it is unrelated to this issue, because my audio has been out of sync the whole time, and i only got that error with one movie.

              Re: I had similar probelm

I`ve tried it at a friend with his computer. He has a newer version of virtual dub and it works fine. The failure was ignored and the file completely encoded.
I thank you for your replys!

              Happy weekend!
