DVD Shrink - Help for newbie please

Hi

downloaded dvd shrink and am new to all this, though I can find simple guides I can't seem to find an idiot guide!

Such as:

Put dvd in and hit button x

then hit button Y

then burn.

I have tried the programme, I have hit 'backup' - back up to where? I can't find it anywhere or is that not what back up means?

Any help would be much appreciated
