splitting avi -> messed up sound

I tried to split my encoded avi file using VirtualDub at keyframes. When I play the resultant first file the sound is ok but the video frames are skipping. When I play the second file the video is OK but the sound is completely gone. What do I do? Someone else also had a similar problem!

    ______________
    SOLUTION!

I forgot to hold down the shift key (to select frames) to select the beginning of the first file.

Nandub is much easier to split avi's than VDub. Just load the avi in Nandub (control-o), push the home button on your keyboard, press ctrl+shift+j and a window will pop up and ask you where you want to split your avi. I always choose 695 mb. Press OK then end on your keyboard. Then F7 and save that half of the avi.
After NDub finishes the first half press Home again and move the slider to the end of the movie, press END and F7, save the second half.

Another option is to use a program called AviSplitCalc. You can split based on movie time or filesize. I haven't had any sync problems using it.
