no compression necessary?

I am using DVDRebuilder PRO v 1.01 and am backing-up lords of dogtown. I usually do movie only back-ups and just got this warning:
"Warning: The inpu directory is already small enough to fit on a dvd-5. No compression is necessary. Continue anyway?". How would one go about burning that to a dvd. Any help would be appreciated

Sounds like a bogus message, that title has been the subject of numerous threads and hundreds of posts. See this thread, I'm guessing you didn't get a complete rip.

rip was complete, used dvdfab decrypter after reading that post about this title. After reading your post though looks like the message is being generated because my selection of movie only. the movie only (vts_01 and associated audio) are indeed only 4017Mbytes. So unless there is a way without encoding to actually burn just those files... And me being the super noob that I am cant quite see a way.

Just do a movie only run in DVDRB. When finished, make your ISO and call ImgBurn or DVD Decrypter to burn it. Given there's no compression, it will take almost no time.

Thanks for the replies as well as the welcome. I did as you said and everything went fine. DVDRB took 247 minutes for 3 phases.

The reason that message is displayed it to let you know that reencoding isn't necessary. What I would suggest when seeing that message (in movie-only mode) is to change the encoder selection to "No Compression" and then start again (keeping movie-only mode). It will then create the new DVD for you as it would have, but it will complete in a matter of 15-30 minutes rather than 247 minutes -- and you will retain a pristine copy of the original feature.

Note that what I've just said can be applied to "Movie-Only" -- but does not apply to "Movie and Menus"...

Note however that you also get that message if "no compression" is determined by RB, and you intend to apply a filter or e.g. "Convert from 4:3 to 16:9".

Hmm, I wonder what RB would do if you selected "No Compression" along w/a filter...

It would ignore the filter... I'll have to do something about that...

If you do something about Than there will have to be a decode and re-encode that is strictly seen making quality less.......

you can better enforce a reencode using full space of the DVD then, so leaving things as they are, ignoring the message 'already fits on ...'
