It's fast Dashiell, but there are many folks (myself included) who think it does not do such a good job at low bitrates. jdobbs might have another view and others still will pipe in with their opinion. Best of luck with it.

I highly recommend CCE Basic. It is a very fast, very high quality encoder. I personally use it all the time and think Cinemacraft's encoders are the best money can buy.

I actually tried it on my brand-new Ultraviolet backup ( to Blutach) and I must say the quality was stunning. DVD-RB Pro, CCE Basic did a beautiful job. So far (fingers crossed) there hasn't been any of that short skipping/stuttering you sometimes get with HC18. (I believe Hank says this will be fixed next version).

BTW, I enjoyed your revised guide on how to burn a dual layer with PGC Edit. I think I'll try to make one with my Honeymooners boxed set. I love that show and the fact you get all 39 episodes in one set, but I must say it contains the worst menus in DVD history.
