Curious - what is this? Something similar to HCEncoder?

Compression % is not what matters - it is bitrate, quant and how they are averaged around the DVD.

See Compression Explained in my signature.

IF your BR drops below say 4Mpbs, I'd use DVD Rebuilder, but if the compression is just 5-10% say, on your system, you might wanna go for DVD Shrink.

I got videocalc from the link in your sig. I loaded it up put 3MB size for other stuff, 1 hr 47 minutes ??secs for the length of the movie and it came up with 5??? kb/s for a movie. The size of the DVD I had 4460MB.

I guess the get file info only works for a single vob. I didn't do anything for the audio.

Did I use videocalc the right way?

Put the number of audio streams in and their average BR. If you got 5Mbps, use Fox's High-High matrix. This is the area where popular transcoders look good on even reasonable sized screens.
