Setting up Procoder

The uninstall reg key is

HKLM\Software\M'soft\Windows\Current Version\Uninstall\{6a70d9e8-c51b etc.

If you delete this key using regedit, you should be able to reinstall (export it to the desktop first for safekeeping).

I think you may be able to make that go away by turning the video display off on ProCoder. It's an odd thing that seems to rarely happen only on a select few computers. Do a search over at Doom9, I think there was a discussion on it.

ok,

I was able to restore my system and reinstall procoder 2. however, I still get a message around 97% saying THE SETTINGS OF THIS PRESET ARE INVAILD. When I go to the eclpro.exe file in the dvd rebuilder folder and try to run it, it asks me if I want to load an ecl file. It does not ask me the yes and no question it had done before. Does anyone think that could be the settings of the preset that the error message pertains to? I figure if the encoding makes it to 97% that the encoding is working it just the communication between rebuilder and procoder that is the problem. If the loading the elcpro.exe file is the problem and I can't load anything it may not work. I cannot create a new one if it only says i can load one. Maybe someone could send me one of there elc files that I could load in there if I cannot create one myself. Idk if it's the problem though.

If there was a problem between Procoder and DVD-RB it would happen immediately, not 97% into the encode. The Presets are something that happens completely within Procoder.

The reason ECLPRO is asking for the ECL is because it is already set up. It only asks for the path, etc. the first time it is run. After that it reads the values from an ECL and sets the parameters in ProCoder to match. If you want to set it up all over again you just have to delete the file "Eclpro.ini" that is in the same directory as ECLPRO.EXE

Have you tried opening up ProCoder and turning the display off?

When Pro Coder is encoding there is no video being displayed. Is it the preview box that you are refering too? because the preview box is unchecked and no video is being displayed while encoding. Is that what you were refering too?

Do you have "Multiple Encoder Processes" selected under the SETTINGS menu? If so, you may want to try turning it off. Also -- are you using ECLPRO v1.00 RC1? That was the one with the fix in it. If you installed DVD-RB from the "Updates Only" package rather than the full installer it may not have been updated.

yes I do have multiple encoder processes checked. I am not sure if I have ELCPRO v. 100. I only installed dvd-rebuilder from the verson that was sent to me through email when I purchased it. I bought rebuilder beginning of this month so I am sure I have ELCPRO v 1.00. If that was suppose to fix the multiple encoder passses problem would unchecking it still make a difference?

Unchecking it will probably make it go away -- but ECLPRO v1.00 RC1 was supposed to have fixed it... so I'm not positive you are experiencing the exact same problem.

I GOT PROCODER TO WORK!!! It was as simple as unchecking the multiple process button. Now I have another problem regarding rebuilder only. It encodes all the way, then right at the end it fails to write an ISO image. I tried it once and then again in batch processing mode. It won't write an image! is there any way to fix that??

Do you mean "Write Image" or "Burn Image"?

To "Write":

Click on "Output to ISO Image" under the "Mode" menu. Make sure you have enough space left on your disc. The ISO Image needs an additional 4.7GB

To Burn automatically:

You have to have either ImgBurn or DVD Decryper installed on your system and DVD-RB will recognize them automatically. Also under the "Mode" menu, "Select ISO Output Options" you must choose "Automatically Burn".

no. I have output to ISO selected. In rebuilder it fails to create the ISO imagie after it's done rebuilding and encoding. Here is the bottom of the log:
Building ISO Image...
- There appears to have been an ISO write error.
- ISO Image WAS NOT successfully written.
- DVD Files WERE NOT removed.

Look in the output directory. Was there a .ISO started (is there a file ending with ISO in the directory)? Was there plenty of room? Also -- did you install using the full installer or from the ZIP?

no. It just put the output files. not the .iso. Because it says it failed to creatre an ISO. there is a file with .iso but it reads 0kb. So that would indicate it wanted to create one but failed to do so. I have tried taking the output files and using a program called folder2iso to create an ISO. But have failed to do it sucessfully, however I might be doing it wrong. But whenever I use HCC encoder it always sucessfully writes them ISO imagie. I just installed the latest verson of DVD REBUILDER that was sent to me via email. So I assume I would be up to date on everything. I just don't understand why this isn't working!!

I installed rebuilder with the full install I received in email v1.10.2. I don't understand why rebuilder will not create an ISO after Procoder is done encoding. When procoder is encoding the movie it says converting, it does not say encoding. I wonder if there is any settings I need to change within rebuilder or procoder? I just do not understand why it would not be able to build an image file if it sucessfully encoded 100%. The other thing I was thinking maybe it has to do with one of the components that you have to install with rebuilder. The fact that procoder finishes encoding, and then rebuilder finishes rebuilding the dvd. Then all it has left to do is create the image file. Some kind of setting is not correct. Again I do check, within rebuilder, output to iso. It outputs all my files in a folder. But will not build the ISO in rebuilder.

does it make a difference if you ouput to an external harddrive vs. the one you installed Procoder and rebuilder onto?
