Encoding Times for 3 quality settings

I read Cithia's guide about DVD RB free version and the encoding times for the 3 settings. Naturally this will vary with the processor in the PC , which quality setting used, and the amount of RAM. What sort of speeds are people getting with the newest processors like Pentium D with Vive technology or the real fast dual AMD processors.

What processor are you using (speed) and how much RAM, and how long does it take to encode for final ISO burning with DVD Decrypter.

    I have a Pentium D with 1gig of RAM
I used HC encoder with high quality setting and I used DVD Rebuilder Pro 1.10.2

      Wow

That is quite fast, Cinthia's guide was showing almost 10 hrs for the best setting with a AMD 3200 I belive. Naturally the processor, HD 7200 or 5000 and RAM will vary the times. Just over 2 hrs is impressive, Is the Pro version faster than the free version. I am trying to decide if I should make the jump away from DVD Shrink to DVD RB free version with the free HC encoder.

      Thanks,
      AV

Here are some RB timings on my system. I've kept a log for the past few runs.

          Procoder master setting,
          movie only,
write to dvd files (not ISO),
          other settings @ defaults,
          usually running alone

          Win XP,SP2
          Athlon 64 3000+ 2.01gHz 512mb
          single HD partition for ripped source, work and output;
          usually not very defragged

source always ripped to HD w/Anydvd, movie only,
          single audio, sometimes subtitles

          length frames comp total=prep+encode+rebuild title
          2:26 210,198 71% 266 5+244+17 Man On Fire
          2:43 235,714 58% 244 5+220+19 Munich
          2:16 195,699 64% 237 5+214+18 The Island
          2:12 191,163 62% 221 5+201+15 Come to Paradise
          2:23 205,741 78% 216 3+198+15 chronicles of narnia
          2:01 174,404 95% 214 3+197+14
          2:16 195,975 60% 210 5+188+17 Tokyo Story
          1:43 149,113 84% 200 7+167+26 Transamerica (PC in use+ ISO opt.)
          1:57 169,093 73% 194 4+176+14 The Edge
          1:52 161,990 77% 191 4+172+15 Being John Malkovich
          1:49 157,400 67% 189 5+168+16 Smiles of a Summer Night
          1:51 160,361 69% 187 4+168+15 Ghost World
          1:30 130,662 81% 181 5+159+17 Final Fantasy 7
          1:42 146,991 74% 167 4+148+15 Chungking express

As expected the processing time is mostly influenced by the number of frames processed and much less by the varying amount of content in the frames.

I would like to recommend DVD Reuilder Pro to you it is money well spent IMHO
as for speed tech is correct I do have dual core. With those filters I used above they dont add to much extra time to rebuilder but if I use HybriddFuPP it will take me around 610min to do a movie I highly recommend the HybridFuPP filter it does an outstanding job here are my results using HybridFuPP(preset="High")

              Wow

Are you saying over 10 hrs. to encode with that quality setting? I would think you start the program then go to bed. Thanks for the pics. and information.

                      that's it

And that's it? Really? Wow. I was looking at the documentation and I was getting worried about what I could choose to put in there.

Is it worth the 10 hours of encoding? I know I could just let it go when I'm asleep. Would you be able to post some before and after shots? Then I could zoom in and look at them.

Do I just put the HybridFuPP.avsi into the plugin section of Avisynth? And what about the other ones in the rar you linked me to? Same place or don't bother?

I would download and unzip them all in to your Avisynth plugin folder because it will have the updated filters for hybridd to work.If your worried about time use shrinks re-author and make 20 min of the DVD your doing and then run it on rebuilder this way you can see if you like it.First go in to mode and select force reencoding for filter DVD Rebuilder, it will say dvd is small enough do you wish to continue just say yes and let it go.I am horrible at giving directions so I hope this explanation is clear enough

I did 10 hours of encoding. Then got an error (I didn't create the output folder so it kept coming up with an error). I thought it was because I pre-processed it so I deleted it all. NOOOOO!
