Encoding times

Someone (anonymez?) asked me a little time ago how my encooding times had improved on my new system.

Well, now using Procoder 2 with multiple processes, I have had a chance to give it a couple of good workouts.

It is encoding at 20 frames per second (close to real time for PAL) on an Athlon 64 3800 X2 with 1Gig of Corsair RAM and a couple of 300Gb Seagate SATA drives using the normal DGDecode (not Nan's). This is more than 3 times faster than before.

how much of the gig of ram sees use during the encoding?

Just curious, what is your configuration on the two 300gb Seagate SATA drives?
Raid 0 or Raid 1? parallel or series setup on the hard drives?

i haven't seen the likes of 20fps for quite some time, but that's only cause i work with lots of interlaced content and prefer to deinterlace. slows me down to 1-2fps at dvd res, regardless of output format!
