No I don't use those settings because. All I use is the HC encoder set to best. multi encoders setting. movie and menu only. Other than that no. Yesterday i did the movie ATL. The source file was 5.11 after I removed some things w/ VOBlanker and the output file was 4.48G.

Do you have a "targetsectors" line in your INI file? If so, remove it.

What did you do in VobBlanker? It is generally compliant, but if you wish to strip things, DVD Rebuilder can also do this.
jdobbs will tell you to try again without preprocessing, so restore your VobBlanker_backup folder and try again.

Well I took out some warnings at the beginning of the movie. Even when I don't use VOBlanker the output files are always 4.4+ in size. I copy and pasted the contents of the INI file so that you may take a look. I am finally encoding X-men 3 which I'm pretty sure did not go through VOBlanker and I was initially having problems with but the encoding process is not finished.Attached FilesComment

I just finished X-men 3. The output was 4.46G. here's the rebuilder log and the INI is in the previous postAttached FilesComment

Don't suppose you've considered upgrading your AVISynth to 2.5.6
Try doing a re-install of DVD Rebuilder, but this time do the full install (not just updates).
And do try notching the beta slider to the left 4 or 5 times with the <. It should help.

Are you using the HCEncoder ver 0.19 in BEST mode, it seems that the BEST mode does produce some oversize and does not respect the calculation of TargetSect * 2048 * 0.015 for the final size.Comment

@techreactor
I did some testing and it doesn't seem to be oversizing for me... have you reported this to Hank315 at all?
@lern1079
Did you, by chance, use the new beta editor/viewer on the source between the time it was blanked and it was encoded? I'm wondering if that may have a role in your reported oversizing...Comment

Did you check the output directory? It just doesn't make sense that it is only happening to you... something is different. It's possible that you have garbage directories there (some of the 3rd party packages create subdirectories in the same path as the VTSs, I've seen it happen) and they are adding to the total size.Last edited by jdobbs; 29 Oct 2006, 08:08 AM.Comment

I am going to do the X-Men 3 again and see if I get the proper output size. So I will let you know how it turns out.Comment
