Image Size Too Big

First I must say how impressed I am with DVDRB Pro 1.12.1 and HC. Ihave processed about 4 DVD's so far (full movie and menues) and burn w/ image burn 2.0 directly (no .iso generation).
When I went burn the one, I got:

"There doesn't appear to be enough space on the disc to burn the image
Image size: 2,297,376 Sectors (4,487 MB)
Disc Size: 2,295,104 Sectors (4,482 MB)

Would you like to continue anyway?" y/n

I clicked yes and did the burn.

I watched the whole movie today, except for the extras (I'll do later), and there was no issue.

Is there a setting somewhere in DVD RB P or HC that I missed?

If you're burning to a -R it will be safe (assuming high quality media). It's too big for a +R

If you have a TargetSectors hidden setting in your INI file, it might be an idea to lower it by 5,000 sectors.

I used a +R w/bboktype to ROM. Then main movie played OK, but I haven't watched the extras yet.
I'll investigate the targetsectors setting. I did a search and got a couple of hits regarding that.

I am having the same problem. Although when I see what the actual file size of the image is, it says it is 4,700,580 kb. THis has only happened on a few movies, usually they will result in a file size around 4,300,000 kb. I am using -r discs and when imgburn tells me the img is too big I try to continue anyway and Imgburn gives me an error message.

In spite of the info/warning, it seems the burn is OK. But just to be on the safe side, I followed the help file in DVD RB PRo and added 2 lines to the rebuilder.ini files in the [options] area:
TargetSectors=2267500
HCTargetSectors=2267500

Last nite I rebuilt another DVD and tried to burn it this morning. Note: when I put in a blank +R media, imgburn reports: Free space 4,700,372,292 bytes and 2,295,104 sectors.
When I hit the burn, i get an info/warning that image is 2,296,469 (4,703,846,400) do you want to burn anyway? I hit yes and the burn continues. No errors. After the burn, imgburn reports that the +R disc has files totalling 4,703,846,400 (2,296,469 sectors)

So what did I do wrong? Why is the image still too big?

I actually run with 2,265,000 and get consistently good results (4.36 to 4.37). The formula that Robot1 gave a while back was to multiply the number in your TargetSectors by 1.013 for your actual sector output size.

So, 2267500 x 1.013 = 2297000 (rounded) = 4.38Gb = a bit too risky.

Take it down by 2500 or even 5000. As jdobbs says, it's like a drop of water in the ocean.

He's not hard to find He wrote RBOpt, which was used exclusively by bitrate tweakers before the beta viewer was introduced.

I've heard U mention beta viewer b4. I've got it checked in DVD RB Pro, but what is supposed to happen?

Do a prepare and then it will appear. You can change the BR by segment, or blank things etc.

Blutach, have you tested this with HC 0.19.1, it does not seem to be consistent with the size output !!!

I haven't used HC for a while now. I experimented with it for a few encodes about 6 months back (version 16 or 17). So, sorry.
