Well sir, how may I proceed then to convert a NTSC mpeg file having 23.976fps to 25fps ? According to me, that setting alongwith audio speed-up are the only way to produce non-jerky outputs. It would b great to know how u would proceed in converting an 23.976fps mpeg movie to pal ?

there is a guide for this in the sticky index of this sub-forum. NTSC to PAL is essentially the reverse of the guide. this sytem works everytime with smooth playback and maintains audio sync."One day men will look back and say I gave birth to the 20th Century". Jack The Ripper - 1888

Well I did check the Faq as u suggested. The DGPulldown software mentioned there is used for conversion of 25fps to 29.97fps. U also said that I have to use the reverse of that guide but I am getting a bit confused. That software can only do pal to ntsc conversion while I am looking for ntsc to pal. Sir, can u xplain the procedure to me in detail ?Comment

in the "basic avi" guide (also in the FAQ index) simply convert to dvd the 23.976 fps file, follow everything exactly. playback output file, make sure it looks good and you have audio sync.
then:
in TMPGEnc go to file>mpeg tools>simple de-multiplex. find the file TMPGEnc just encoded for input, hit run.
now you have an .m2v and .mp2 file. the latter is the audio.
open DGPulldown
load .m2v file from TMPGEnc
under "custom" enter "23.976" --> "25"
when DGpulldown is done you 'll have a new .m2v.pulldown file. use this as video input for dvd author, the previously de-multiplxed .mp2 file for audio input.
that's enough for now, see if you make it this far.Last edited by LT. Columbo; 17 Jun 2006, 12:17 PM."One day men will look back and say I gave birth to the 20th Century". Jack The Ripper - 1888

Thanx for your reply. I have understood the procedure u mentioned, now. But since I always have to edit my videos (esp cropping & resizing), so I would rather stick to my old ways. Moreover its not that time-consuming cos the videos that I use for input are just 1 or 2 min long. Anyway, thank u very much, sir.Comment
