    Soften Block noise

Well can any1 tell me what the function of 'Soften Block Noise' in Settings tab in TMPGEnc is ? I have read about it somewhere that it helps to improve quality...i mean its related to the macroblocks that spring out in an mpeg 1 videos. Is it true ?

like some of the other settings, i found this one absolutely useless. try it for yourself and see. it's just as useful as "do not frame rate conversion". the main way to preserve quality in TMPGEnc is with the bitrate (DVD).
