    TMPGEnc Error

I downloaded a 335mb Avi file in 5 different segments that was split with Hjsplit and they were combined with the same program. When I tried to encode this file I received an error @ 3% completion the first time and then @ 16% the second time. I had already encoded two other 5 segment Avi files using TMPGEnc Plus with no problems. I figured maybe something was wrong with the Avi file so I downloaded it again. Combined the segments using the same program and received another error @ 26% completion. Error reads as follow:
    TMPGEnc
[Write Error occurred at address 00401E6A of module 'TMPGEnc.exe' with 00130000].

Can anyone tell me if there's an issue with the file or if TMPGE has a migraine?

Any assistance with this will be highly appreciated....

    Thank you.

try to raise directshow multimedia file reader in environmental settings.

Go to the TMPGEnc's Option menu and select Environmental settings. From there, select the
    VFAPI Plug-in tab.

There you see a list of various reader plugins installed for the TMPGEnc. The one that's called DirectShow Multimedia File Reader is the one that we're looking at. As a default, its priority is -1. Select the item and right click on it. Choose Higher priority and repeat this until the "Priority" for this item is higher than any other plugin's priority in the list (usually 2).

    thread moved to TMPGEnc forum.

can you play your AVI file correctly with any media player. Downloaded file often gets corrupted. Please this free program which, in hope, can fix your AVI file for you

Download DivFix, a software capable of fixing badly downloaded DivX movies

The search for your error came out nothing. Please first try LT. Columbo's suggestion to see if it works. If it doesn't, download and use DivFix from the link posted above. Let us know please

never encountered write errors that couldn't be circumvented by raising DS. if it don't work, it'll be a puzzler.

I've tried Divfix, it completed and said that the file was repaired... but when I
tried to run it through TMPGEnc, the error occurred again! [frustrating] I've given up on it!

Hey guys... I need your help with something else!

I'm converting Avi files over to make them into Dvds and I'm using Avi2Dvd.
I downloaded a guide "How to convert AVI files (DivX, XviD etc.) to DVD with Avi2DVD" and in a couple aspects the guide is quite vague. What I want to do is to add multiple Avi files to complete a full dvd-5. In the guide it says that this can be done, but doesn't say how to do it. With your permission, I would like to post this link to the guide so you can have a look at what I'm referring to: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/arch...vd_avi2dvd.cfm

I seriously need your expertise in reference to this... I've posted the a couple questions to the forum where I got the guide and NO one ever answered me. I post one issue here and you guys were on it in no time flat and actually tried to research this issue! I seriuosly am impressed and my appreciation of your response is extreme!!!

                  Thank you.....

Talk about the TMPGEnc line of software, including TMPGEnc Express, MPEG Editor and TMPGEnc DVD Author

if you end up using avi2dvd, search THIS forum for "avi2dvd" and you'll find a thread/guide by benbryant on how to use it. post avi2dvd related issues there. if you decide to go with TMPGEnc, i'll be happy to explain how to make a compilation disc.
