OK, the clip I am using, the audio is AC3, yo ucannot use AC3 audio in the menu. Any idea:
1. How to convert one of these VOB files to MPEG
2. How to conver the audio in the newly created MPEG to MPEG-1 Audio Layer2 or Linear PCM?

With the file extension showed, just rename the file extension from .vob to .mpg

How to conver the audio in the newly created MPEG to MPEG-1 Audio Layer2 or Linear PCM?

There are many different ways:

1- You can use DGIndex to decode the AC3 track to WAV

2- Use TMPGEnc Plus's MPEG Tools to demux the .mpg file into separate audio and video files and then use BeLight and BeSweet, HeadAC3he, PX3 AC3 to WAV to convert AC3 to WAV, and then use TMPGEnc Plus's MPEG Tools to mux the the video and the new WAV files together

3- You can also use ProjectX to demux the .mpg file, convert audio from AC3 to WAV with any tools mentioned above and then mux them with ImagoMPEG-Muxer

There are more methods to do what you ask for. I just list a few. All free tools except TMPGENc Plus with free trial

some good suggestions by ben, one that he mentioned is what i do. demux the audio from mpg or vob with virtualdubmod or TMPGEnc, convert to wav with belight or px3, re-encode through TMPGEnc Plus using this new wav file as audio input. this should only take a few minutes for all this as it must be a short clip....
