TMPGenc - video (AVI) to DVD-MPG - strange syncing error

Let's say I have an AVI file on my computer. I watch the AVI file. Everything is okay, smooth, and no problems.

I convert the AVI into a DVD-mpg using TMPGenc. The resulting DVD-mpg comes out strange. Some of the frames skip over fast and some completely skip over (not a huge chunk but still annoying and important to a movie file since afterall it's a movie). This results in some scenes are moved through fast almost as if it's fast-forwarded for a second or two.

I've done this conversion process of AVI into DVD-mpg many times before but this is the first time I've ever encountered something like this.

What could be the problem? Thanks.

    welcome

post the file info, have you succesully converted a file with the same attributes before? sounds like the framerate is not being converted right.

what settings did you use? there is a also a guide in the FAQ index of the TMPGEnc forum...

NOTE: if it's being done right, and it still comes out like that (while the original avi plays ok) it could be the file itself. this isn't unheard of.
