    I have a problem

I have an .avi file and Im trying to convert it so that I can burn it to VCD, but unfortunately, TMPGEnc wont accept it.

I keep getting a message that saids it cannot open or is unsupported. Im been using TMPGEnc and I havent seen a message like this. Is it the files or something with the program cause I recently had to recover my entire system. Do I need to update it, maybe?

    welcome

    what is the exact error?

does it play on the pc?

    missing codec?

try the methods here to start.
Talk about the TMPGEnc line of software, including TMPGEnc Express, MPEG Editor and TMPGEnc DVD Author

    post file info if possible

usually if it is the file itself it will crash TMPGEnc and not produce an error, unless you have added strange characters to the file name and TMPGEnc can't comprehend. in this case try a renaming the file. if all of this and the above fails and you have the correct codec, the file is garbage.

          Hello,

It is my first conversion from .avi to DVD. Sorry if I am a bit slow...
The .avi file plays fine on the pc but TMPGEnc Plus wont load it:

I followed the guide regarding the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and changed its priority (to 2):

          It still doesnt work.
          Below is the file info:

And some error messages with VirtualDubMod...

          Please help. Thanks a lot
