    Slightly jerky video

I've been testing TMPGEnc 2.524 to convert an avi file created with Windows Movie Maker 2.1. After creating an ISO using DVDAuthor and then burning to DVD using ImgBurn, the video using PowerDVD exhibits a slight jerkiness. Viewing the same DVD in WMP 10 plays smoother. Is there any fix for this?

the ISO when viewing with DVD Shrink is a little less jerky but the audio stutters every now and then. The audio stutter is not heard in PowerDVD.

The original avi plays fine. It's after using TMPGEnc that I notice the slight jerkiness which is seen in video clips that have some motion. The occasional audio dropout is also heard which is not noticed when a DVD of the conversion is made.

I recently downloaded VLC player but have not installed. Regarding VLC player, can I install just the player without the ActiveX plugin and still have full functionality?

            Thanks for responding.

I believe I used the two pass VBR 8000 kbps for video...48000 Hz 192 kbps for audio...separated into separate video and audio. Here's the strange thing. I just looked at the m2v video portion through GSpot (shows video at 7926 kbps) and the video looks a lot smoother via the small GSpot preview screen. The separate audio sounds OK when opened. The ISO was created with DVD Author by using the TMPGEnc (separate video and audio) and then burned with ImgBurn.

ok, well you say the original avi is ok, so try the guide for 29.97 Fps (NTSC) setting in TMPGEnc, very simple.
