    pixel conversion

    Hi,

I have a new video capature card 'DVD EzMaker PCI Deluxe'.

The software that came with it is 'Cyberlink Power Director + Power Producer'. It has facilities for capturing in 'MPG2 & 4' 720 X 576 pixels, which I have set, but the end product is always captured in 640 X 576 pixels, which TMPGEnc DVD AUthor 2 won't recognise.

My processor is AMD Athlon64 3000, 512 mb ram.

    Can anyone help me with a way to convert (MPG2, 640 X 576) to (MPG2, 720 X 576) pixels so I can author with TMPGEnc 'DVD Author 2' ?

    Thanks Alan.

      Thanks Lt for your reply.

I don't have TMPGEnc Plus, so I don't know whether it will work.

I will search the TMPGE site. Alan.

        Hi LT,

I have just looked at the TMPGEnc website and in the 'technical area' of TMPGEenc Plus, they mention the pixel sizes that are compatable, but 640 X 576 is not mentioned.

I expect that it won't do the job either.

        Alan.

ANY size is compatible, it's just a matter of selecting the proper setting

              dvd flick

              Hi Nighttran,

Thanks for your relpy. I have looked at the dvd flick website and it appears to be 'burn' program. I actually need to author and compact the mpeg file before I burn it.

              Hi LT,

I have tried to capture on every setting in in the Capture program, and every time the Mpeg ends up with 640 X 576 pixels. TMPGEnc Author 2 wont read it.

              Thanks, Alan.

Open your captured file in TMPGEnc Plus. Then encode it to MPEG2 720 x 576.You can choose the settings from 'SETTINGS' button at the bottom.

                  encoding

                  Hello again,

I have downloaded TMPGEnc Plus, and it seems to work ok on a 50 minute video but seems to loose quality, and very slight sync retard.

Encoding from 640 x 576 to mpeg 720 x 576, takes the same time as capturing the origional video.

Thanks guys for your help, Alan.
