When I convert 720 x 480 resolution DV-AVI file to MPEG2 using TMPGEnc DVD Author3 I am offered two relevant encoding choices. The first is "Pixel 40:33, 16:9 (NTSC)" and the second is "Display 16:9". I have assumed that I should use the "Pixel 40:33" option (to adjust the avi file to achieve 16:9 aspect ratio for NTSC) but it occurs to me that I have no idea what the "Display 16:9" option is for. Does anyone know? Am I correct to choose "Pixel 40:33, 16:9 (NTSC)"?

Is your source full 16:9 to begin with? If not, it would seem the PAR needs adjusting.

Thanks, Les, and hope you are still monitoring this post. (Sorry I didn't respond earlier, but I thought I would receive an email notification of a reply, but didn't.) Anyway, yes, the original source is 16:9. Not sure what PAR is, but glad to hear I don't have to adjust it. Still, I'm not sure whehter to select "Pixel 40:33, 16:9 (NTSC)" or "Display 16:9" and I don't know if it makes any difference. Any advice?Comment
