Converting captured MPEG to Divx 5.05

I used powervcr II to capture a 30 minute tv show. PowervcrII automatically splits the files at 600mb, and I end up with 3 600mb files.

What would be the best way to convert it? I used virtualdub mod, and converted each file into avi first, and then joined them in vdub. I ended up with the audio jumping ahead of the video a bit.

    Suggestions?

You could try Flask, the other thing to try is joining the
mpgs first using tmpg tools or something similar.

    Then encoding one big mpg.

Join the file first in power vcr II. Then encode and split. vdub will split it for you.
