New Here, first post..... .m2ts converter

I have a Canon HF100 HD camcorder, and am trying to convert it to a more usable format, to post on Youtube... etc. What do you use, and how does it work? I have heard things about deinterlacing and stuff that is over my head. Anything easy for a newb to try?

I have a crappy free trial offer one, but the quality sucks. I will pay money for the right software, but it has to be good, and fairly easy to use. Or is my best bet to go buy another cheapo camcorder?
