hi
i'm new here and i need help
I often translate and add subtitles to videos i usually get from youtube
in order to do so, i download them (mp4 format), and then convert them to avi (with winff) because my subtitling program (subtitle workshop) does not support mp4
then i generate the srt file and then i re-encode with the subs in avi format (xvid) using virtualdub
besides the fact that it's a bit painful, this system also has a big flaw regarding 16:9 format: taking a 16:9 mp4 and doing all this results ultimately in having a subtitled version on youtube which is in 4:3 but shown in 16:9 with 2 black side bands... that truly sucks
my question is, knowing that i do all this on a computer running win 7 x64 (many small programs do not run properly on this), how can i proceed to keep the original aspect ration until the end of the process?
thanks for any help, and happy new year
