What makes a file failed to convert?

So the story is I would like to convert a mkv file movie to smaller size mkv with vidcoder. The problem is in 1 minute it says succeeded and when I checked it only converted +- 1-3min of the movie, and I tried like 4-5x already and its always the same result.

The thing is this is not the first time, there were some other movies like that also (not many times, but like 3-4 movies).

So i checked the movies and all can play well on my br player or my laptop.

and the setting i used is normal, all unchange except video filters detelecine default & decomb default (as my laptop cant handle more)
