I've been wondering if there's any way to automate VirtualDub or another freeware to concatenate a slew of compatible .avi files? Clicking Append in the file menu 20 times is too much work.

Just number all the files to be appended in a serial order and put them in the same folder ,e.g myvideo1.avi, myvideo2.avi......Then when you select the first file to be appended ,all the other files will be appended as well(remember to tick the "auto detect additional segments by file name" tab in virtualdub).

And then there is this little ditty...

Not as feature rich as VDM, but excellent for joining.
