    Error in virtualdub

    I am trying to resize an AVI with xvid codec. The specs on the original AVI are

    video: 448x256@446kbps xvid
    audio: 44100@96kps MP3

    I want to convert it to

    video: 320x182@336kbps xvid
    audio: the same as original

    I'm attaching screen captures for the entire setup, including the error.

    Would appreciate any help please.

    Thanks in advance

      I want to convert it to

      video: 320x182
      But your screenshot shows the resize filter at 320 x 183. Change the 183 to 182 and it should be fine.

        I tried it again but at another size, 368x288. It started encoding but a few minutes into it, it stops with an error.

            Same type of dialog as error above except this time it says

            VideoSourceAVI[ICDecompress] error: unspecified error (-100)

              I found out what the error means

              <DT>"VideoSourceAVI error: unspecified error (-100)" <DD>This error actually means exactly what it says -- unspecified -- but the usual cause of the error is a corrupted frame in your AVI file that the decompression codec rejected. Such errors are particularly apt to happen with MPEG-4 V3 (DivX) files, since those files tend to be transferred across multiple machines, each of which can introduce errors. There is no fix for the problem except to reobtain a clean copy

              </DD>
