DixXLand subtitling error. Can you help?

I created a .ssa subtitle in Divxland Media Subtitler. When I chose to input the subtitles on the video it asked me the directory where VirtualDub is... I chose it. The subtitler.rc, vdf, dsp and dsw are in the virtualDub/plugins folder.
However, it shows an error message "Can't open script file", and closes the software.
How do I fix it?
