First try with VD and Xvid. Single pass. Video 800 kbps. Audio 128 kbps.File size:6.6 MB i.e 66% of original.

Pixelations are there in the avi. But the same pixelations are present in the original mpg too.

      hey.
first off - The whole point of converting the music video, is to keep it's audio intact. (*MUSIC* video).
Thanks for the try, I'll check it out.

Yes. But then do not bother too much about a degradation in Video quality. And as I said earlier, the original video too has the pixelations.
OK.Here is a 2-pass file with the audio intact.Encoded with XviD using AVIDemux.

I usually prefer AVIDemux over VD unless I am using DivX codec(which AVIDemux doesn't support).

          Hey,
Sorry for the flawed input file, I only noticed the pixelization after you uploaded the output files.
So I'm uploading a much better looking file, hoping for the best.

Here are 2 encodings. One using AVIDemux. The other using SUPER. Both with XviD encoder.

              Hi
Okay, little to no pixelization on those samples, although - granted the video source is much better. Any reason why you didn't try vdub?
And could you give me a link to those 2 progs you used? I'll try them myself on other samples and see the results.
              Thanks!

VD does not support DIRECT STREAM COPY of mp2 audio(it always saves as PCM,thus increasing the file size). You first have to demux the audio from the file using something like TMPGEnc Plus. Then do the video compression in VDMod, disable the default audio stream and add the demuxed mp2. Too many steps for a simple thing.
                AVIDemux.
                SUPER.
